Unified communications and collaboration (UCC) is a technology that integrates workplace communication with real-time, asynchronous collaborative capabilities. UCC solution, which reduces the cost of infrastructure for enterprise communication and collaboration, is a collection of solutions that organisations use to guarantee that virtually all of their technology works together easily and securely for near real-time collaboration. Voice, IP Telephony Calling, Instant Messaging, Desktop Sharing, Presence, and Web Conferencing including both audio and Video Conferencing are all integrated with UCC to allow them to connect virtually seamlessly.
Components of UCC shall include email, voicemail, calendars, scheduling tools, video conferencing, instant messaging (IM), desktop sharing and VoIP. Furthermore, the feature may include presence tracking, which is the capacity to determine if a contact is busy or available, and Unified refers to the ability to do all of these duties from a single location/application.
